GRUB GIRL (A XXX film)- *Based on Edward Lee's short story.

      I about shit myself when i found this title floating around a underground website i frequent. I've been a Edward Lee Fan since i got my dirty mitts on his terrific Infernal Angel novel. So obviously being the diehard fan that I am, i've seeked out as many of his books as i possibly can, and i'm proud to say my collection has grown to over twenty novels, novellas, and short stories. With that all being said, i was deeply disappointed by his movie adaptation of "Header", it was beyond fucking lame and extremely tame compared to the source material.
     So as i clicked play on Grub Girl i wasn't expecting much, but to my surprise they kept pretty damn close to the short story. In fact, when it comes to a man given the honor of being called the originator of the splatterpunk movement i was thrilled to see they did it justice. Now, how the fuck do you make a movie (even if its a porn) that clocks around hour and twenty minutes when the source material was only a twenty page short story (when, in this case its prolong the sex scenes, mix some so/so gore in there, add the dialog from the story and hit repeat).
   What i found fascinating, perhaps a little creepy as hell as well; is the first sex scene with the Grub Girl, shes been infected with a chem trail from a secret military aircraft and like many others that where in the unfortunate area of the planes course they either died immediately or came back as Grubs. Now for the first sex scene. Two military doctors are in a really poorly thought out set (christ i could have done better in my basement), but its a frigging porno, so i'll give them a pass on this one. The head doctor has the hots for our poor dead Grub Girl and starts to basically rape her, thats where i have to stop for a second- i don't fucking condone any prick that does that.. Now, I can't believe for the life of me how the hell the actress could literally just lay they and let the two men have their way with her as she keeps her eyes shut, but alas she wakes up after the money shot (i wish i was making this shit up) and complains to the guy that he was the worst fuck ever and proceeds to bite his cock off.   This leaves us with moron number two, who proceeds to make the same mistake as the guy before, i guess it really was killer pussy...
  The movie ends just it does in the short story, and overall for first being a porn and second being based on a rather twisted concept (a dead hooker has a better pussy than a living one) it was a interesting film. The sex was decent, the gore was better than most of the horror/porn mix-ups i've watched and the dialog although painful at times gets good marks because it stayed true to the short story. So i'd strongly reccomed this oddity with a strong B+ rating

Philosophy Of A Knife- 2008

      Well my demented minions i know it's been ages since my last review and what better film to start my new ummm "Philosophy" off with than  truly the sickest movie you'll ever see! So go and grab your munchies, make sure you head to the bathroom as this is an 4 1/2 hour long film and while your in the bathroom grab a bucket- YOUR GOING TO NEED IT! Lets begin our review of the True story behind the Imperial Japanese Unit 731 and they're atrocious experiments on helpless victims.   This is Philosophy Of A Knife.   AS the film starts out you get a little back story to why Japan was so interested in being and near a U.S.S.R. occupied town. Also you learn that the Russians, Germans and Americans were further ahead in the chemical and biological warfare game and thus Japan lacked any true knockout punch of there enemies.
      This film as i've stated is only holy hell of a long movie, most of you will either be bored to death by it or have to watch it in two sittings.  But for those lucky (and brave few) that stick around the full 4 plus hours, you'll be rewarded with top notch gore that bends  reality.  Now i don't want to get into many gruesome details, but trust me folks, you of the weak stomach should probably avoid this film at all costs! I do want to bring up one interesting point, this film is missing two full reels of footage because during the post production process the Russian government broke into the offices and confiscated all materials and only gave back a select few reels of film.  My question has always been, what the hell was on those reels of film that the Russian Government didn't want the general public seeing?!
     Towards the end of the film, i can say as the producers have confirmed through various sources that the autopsy scene is real, it was a child that died and the parents allowed them to use him in the film- can you say sick much?  I mean this film is full of human brutality and uncaring its frightening, not because it could happen, but because IT DID HAPPEN! I love this film for one main reason, the director never shy ed anyway from the truth in his story telling. Now as far as the "real pictures" being shown through the film, i have no idea if there real or not, they look aged and if they are indeed true artifacts from that terrible time period it's a stark reminder of what human beings can do to each other without fore thought.

        I seriously want every single one of you that reads this review to watch the film, as it's nasty, cruel, brutal but all real...   If i had to pick a so-called favorite scene, it would have to be the cockroach in the vagina that "finds it way out"- ummm, yea that was fucking twisted even for me..     Alright my minions GET WATCHING!

M.J's "thriller" -1983

   Of course every child and adult in the early 80's knew Michael Jackson by now with his string of chart topping hits. However this Music video clocking in at a staggering 10 plus minutes (a "short film" really) is special for many reasons. First it's directed by John Landis (of Blues Brothers fame and American Werewolf in London), It features the brilliant Special Effects make-up by one of the horror industry's leading "gods" in Effects Rick Barker (American Werewolf In London & many more), and a cameo voice over by the greatest horror/suspense actor to ever live Vincent Price.
     This "short film"  came out October of 1983 and at once was a hit on MTV even amid controversy of it's length and it's use of gore.  The music video and the song itself both hold the test of time, they are played at nearly every Halloween bash i go to every year and that's a testament to Landis's great film making skills and Jackson's song writing abilities. NEW ENGLAND METAL HARDCORE & METAL FEST *SATURDAY'S SHOW*

   As their tagline line goes for this years event it's been "14 FUCKING YEARS".  I will admit i missed most of the earlier unknown Hardcore acts on the second stage as my friend was running a little late- no big deal, we got there at 4pm and started our Metal fest off with a Canadian band called:PERIPHERY  on the first stage; they were an ok band, more Screamo for my taste tho'. From there my friend Jenn and I went upstairs to catch some Hardcore acts. Our first band was: SHIPWRECK, and if i remember correctly they are out of New Jersey- great band and the crowd loved their cover of a Minor Threat song as there closer.  The Worcester Palladium allowed you re-entry into the place until 7:30pm, great for me as i took a few smoke breaks outside. And mingled with my fellow metalheads and of course we got to see members of Bands mingle with the crowd as well- very cool to see!
      Next up on our agenda was a our first Female fronted band of the night in: IWRESTLEDABEARONCE  My friend loved them, but i however thought the vocals were weak and their whole onstage presence lacked energy and it showed by the crowd not getting into them much at all.  Another smoke break later and 30 minutes of setting up by the UNEARTH  roadies we were ready for our first local act of the night. There set was the 3rd loudest of the night and the crowd went totally bat shit crazy for the guys in UNEARTH- that was great to see (finally). Next up was another Canadian band in: PROTEST THE HERO, there set was full of f-bombs towards the crowd and just off the wall antics that i thought were funny as hell, and they kept the crowd into there music for their entire set (hard to do, because by then it's now 8 hours into the festival).
     Third to last band were Thrash metal gods OVERKILL, there set was of course was peppered with mostly classics with the occasional new song. Best song of theirs "we don't care what you think- FUCK YOU" a crowd pleaser for sure. Next up was England's own DRAGONFORCE, a power metal band hailing from the late 90's. Not the best choice in my honest opinion to have them be the second to last act, although they did get most of the crowd into it. I just prefer my metal meatier i guess. Finally the reason why ever showed up: ALL THAT REMAINS, another band hailing from Massachusetts and they started the show off with a blast from the past "The Weak Willed". and from there they played an array of new songs and classics, I wasn't able to spend the full two hours for their set, but i did get to see a little over half of it and it was very impressive. This was there 11th New England Metal & Hardcore Festival. And the Festival being in it's 14th year, these guys have played almost everyone and it shows not only there heart but love for the genre and it's huge fanbase.  **i have some pix to upload and a couple of videos**

A new endeavor for me

I'm going to the New England Metal & Hardcore Festival tomorrow afternoon. It's a 12hour long  festival and i'll be taking pictures and video of some of the performances and doing a review of the festival for you all to see here by tomorrow night, or possibly mid day Sunday depending on when i get home from the event itself.

    It's a nationally known event in it's 14th year held at the Worcester Palladium over 3 days with easily over 50 bands performing, i'll only be commenting on Saturday's show solely as i did not buy a three day pass..   Here is a link to the palladium's website for more info on their storied history: http://thepalladium.net/
